A Child’s World has been nurturing young learners for nearly 20 years. At our daycare centers and preschools, your child will grow in self-confidence and develop a strong foundation for academic and lifelong success. A Child’s World is unlike typical childcare centers and preschools. Keep reading to find out what sets us apart and how your child will benefit.
The educators of A Child’s World follow a unique curriculum and approach to learning that is based on the latest scientific studies. We’ve created our learning environments and activities based on proven neuroscience research that demonstrates the ways in which children learn best. For example, studies have shown that certain areas of the brain respond to certain types of stimuli. Your child will develop critical academic skills with our 4 Brain Essential Learning Steps of the Living Education Series (4BELS) that utilizes a thematic approach. Our curriculum integrates language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, along with enrichment activities in accordance with weekly themes. For example, in November, your youngster will learn about civic engagement, ancestors, and family structures and then progress to exploring outside of family and community into the country and world in December.
Lifelong Skills Development
Children at A Child’s World develop more than just a solid academic foundation; they also learn valuable lifelong skills. Our degreed educators nurture each child’s problem-solving abilities and creativity. Children learn about finding a variety of solutions and working collaboratively.

Young children are more susceptible to illnesses because their immune systems are still developing. Unfortunately, while they are not in their homes, they are exposed to germs from other children and adults. You can help your child stay healthy this year by teaching good personal hygiene habits. Instruct your child to sneeze or cough into the crook of his elbow or a tissue. Also teach your child how to properly wash his/her hands. It is best to wet hands under warm, running water, and then scrub with soap for the length of the “Happy Birthday” song or 20 seconds. Help your child rinse hands thoroughly and then dry them on a clean towel.
Another good way to strengthen your child’s immune system is to ensure that he/she gets a good night’s sleep. Enforce a regular bedtime for your youngster and make sure there is also a naptime routine. Offer your child a wide array of fresh fruits and veggies, including those that are rich in vitamin C.

Children—even young preschoolers—often have a highly structured schedule, particularly if they participate in afterschool activities such as sports, play groups, or clubs. Although structure is important for children, it is also important to allow them plenty of time for creative play. High-quality child care centers and preschools encourage children to engage in creative expression because it offers incredible benefits for youngsters.
Divergent thinking is a method of cognition that facilitates the creative process. With divergent thinking, a child will consider all of the possible solutions to a problem and decide which course of action to take. Since the creative process is largely a matter of trial and error, it nurtures divergent thinking skills. For example, a preschooler may build a stack out of Lego blocks. He or she may try to extend a line of horizontal Legos from the top of the stack, yet realize that the stack falls over. After considering the situation, the preschooler may realize that a second stack of Legos is needed to support the horizontal arrangement of blocks. Nurturing these problem-solving skills in preschoolers helps them succeed in their future academic and career endeavors.
At this age, youngsters are still working on their motor skills. Creative activities, such as cutting out paper shapes with child-friendly scissors, gripping a paint brush, or drawing a picture all require controlled motor skills. Kids learn better control of their small muscles when they’re hard at work with creative play.
As a preschooler grows and explores the world, he or she begins to develop a sense of self. Creative expression encourages the development of this sense of self and self-esteem. Children learn to feel a sense of ownership and pride in their projects and accomplishments.

Preschoolers love to draw and paint. However, art supplies can be messy and inconvenient to use. If you’re planning to travel with your preschooler, download the Drawing Pad app and let your child stay occupied and entertained while expressing his or her creativity!
The Drawing Pad app is an easy-to-use program that children can easily navigate. Your child can use virtual paintbrushes, markers, crayons, stickers, and more to decorate virtual coloring books. You can even share treasured masterpieces via email or print them out to post on your refrigerator.
